IP Infusion's OcNOS 6.6 release is now live for general availability. IP Infusion's Network Operating System (NOS) running on open networking switches combines the key principles of best-in-class hardware and software. IP Infusion's Open Compute Network Operation System (OcNOS) provides a rich set of control plane features, providing robust quality, facilitating AI workload transfers, ensuring lower costs and at the same time providing vendors with a best-of-breed selection for hardware platforms. With the OcNOS 6.6 release comes many exciting updates for the data center.
ERSPAN in Data Center Networks: Enabling Remote Monitoring
OCNOS 6.6 now supports ERSPAN (Encapsulated Remote Switched Port Analyzer) that extends the functionality of SPAN and RSPAN already supported in OcNOS to allow the mirrored traffic to be transported across data center IP fabric via GRE tunnel. As a result, ERSPAN allows IT teams to monitor traffic across multiple locations without being restricted by Layer 2 boundaries. This is particularly beneficial in large-scale data centers and makes it ideal for remote data center operations and hybrid cloud environments. ERSPAN provides a flexible tool for visibility into network traffic for troubleshooting, security, and performance optimization.
VxLAN IRB IP ACL: Securing and Controlling Traffic in Modern Data Centers
In modern data centers, EVPN VxLAN (Ethernet VPN Virtual Extensible LAN) has become a fundamental technology for building scalable, multi-tenant networks. With the introduction of VxLAN IRB (Integrated Routing and Bridging), networks can efficiently route traffic between different VxLAN segments. However, without proper traffic control, security risks such as unauthorized access can arise.
