EPS to sell Fujitsu DCI Solutions Featuring 1FINITY Optical Networking Platform
11th July 2017 - EPS Global today announced a distribution agreement with Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc., a leading provider of business, information technology and communications solutions.
Under the agreement, EPS Global will distribute the Fujitsu 1FINITY™ platform, featuring the Transport family of high-performance DCI solutions. The open, disaggregated 1RU blades of the Fujitsu DCI solution are economical, scalable and programmable, enabling network operators to control space and power, while planning for future bandwidth growth.
The 1FINITY platform also includes a Switch family that serves growing applications such as wireless backhaul and data center interconnect; and Lambda family that combines functional blades to provide a scalable, colorless, directionless ROADM network. Available in a wide variety of configurations that save rack space, simplify operations, and reduce power and cooling demands, the 1FINITY platform employs a Linux-based operating system designed to be managed within an SDN/NFV environment, such as the Fujitsu Virtuora® Product Suite.
EPS Global has long been an advocate of the open networking model, having recognized SDN as an enabling technology early on, and the cost-savings and network acceleration benefits it would offer its customers.
"In data center environments, disruption-free service is essential, and it requires a communications network that provides the highest levels of reliability, performance, and security,” said Chris Curley, VP Sales for the Americas at EPS Global. “Fujitsu solves these data center interconnect challenges and we're delighted to bring pioneering platforms like 1FINITY to the market in North America."
“Our partnership with EPS Global will benefit providers across the industry serving Data Centers, MSPs, Internet Exchanges, Utilities and Telco markets,” said Paul Fagan, senior vice president of sales at Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. “We look forward to working closely with EPS Global to help customers increase service velocity, grow revenue, and reduce operating costs.”
