LONDON – September 23, 2025 – EPS Global, a world leader in semiconductor distribution and secure provisioning services, today announced it is now a strategic distributor for SCI Semiconductor, a pioneer in secure-by-design device development. This partnership will bring SCI's innovative ICENI family of microprocessors to EPS Global's worldwide customer base in the automotive, critical infrastructure, industrial, and medical sectors.
The agreement enables SCI Semiconductor’s ICENI family to directly address a critical need for protection against memory safety exploits in cybersecurity by integrating CHERI (Capability Hardware Enhanced RISC Instructions) technology, a revolutionary approach to hardware-enforced memory protection, developed over the last decade by the University of Cambridge, Microsoft, DARPA, and other key partners.
The ICENI family of CHERI-enabled secure microcontrollers delivers the world's first high-integrity, 100% memory safe devices. CHERI technology enables the implementation of fine-grained hardware memory protection, preventing entire classes of common exploits like buffer overflows and use-after-free vulnerabilities. The technology also enables the creation of secure, isolated software compartments, enforcing the principle of "Least Privilege", to ensure that a vulnerability in one part of a system cannot be escalated to compromise another. This architectural approach provides a robust foundation for building secure-by-design systems.
"We're delighted to work with SCI Semiconductor in support of their channel and customer engagement strategies," said Colin Lynch, CEO at EPS Global. "SCI's value proposition is compelling, and they're ahead of the market in terms of delivery. They're providing key security chips that meet customers' needs for secure-by-design solutions into critical infrastructure, automotive, and aerospace markets. EPS Global can add significant value in this space through our customer engagement, distribution expertise, and secure provisioning capabilities."
As a distributor, EPS Global will leverage its extensive global network to make the ICENI family readily available to designers and manufacturers. Furthermore, EPS Global's industry-leading secure provisioning services are a natural complement to SCI's technology, enabling customers to securely inject cryptographic keys, firmware, and unique identities into each device in a trusted, certified environment.
"We are extremely pleased to be working with EPS Global to support the distribution and adoption of our ICENI family of devices," said Haydn Povey, CEO of SCI Semiconductor. "Security of electronic systems is critical, with McKinsey estimating over $10 Trillion of damage every year from cyber-attacks. Through the partnership of SCI's intrinsically secure devices, and the knowledge and expertise of EPS in the distribution channel it is possible to tackle the epidemic of vulnerable systems in our homes, products, and businesses."
This collaboration provides designers and manufacturers in high-stakes industries with a clear path to adopting next-generation, hardware-enforced security, protecting critical data and operations from the ground up.
