The SABER-4400 is a compact, hardened, modular platform targeting the Access Edge/Metro Edge of the network. It has four universal slots that can hold one-slot, two-slot, three-slot and four-slot (full width) sleds to address a diverse set of network edge application scenarios from Layer 0 to Layer 3. Configurable sleds include Coherent Optical Transponders (TMX), Coherent Muxponders (TMX), Regens (TMX), Amplifiers (OFA), Path Protection Modules (PPM), CDC-Flex ROADMs (RDM), Flexible Optical cross-connects (FOX) and L2/L3 switching/routing (PKT).
