The AFBR-S50-FEK TOF evaluation kit contains all hardware needed to immediately start working with the Broadcom AFBR-S50 multipixel TOF sensors. It comes with all members of Broadcom’s TOF sensors family which can be easily plugged into the sensor socket on the adapter board. The sensors’ FOVs range from 0.4° x 0.4° to 13° x 6° while the typical achievable distances range 10mm to 50m and beyond depending on the type. The sensor works well in all light situations from completely dark up to blue sunny sky (100klux) outdoors and above. This, while the sensor firmware takes care of maintaining laser class 1 in all situations. The family evaluation kit is composed of an ARM Cortex M4 microcontroller board, an adapter board with a socket for the sensors to be plugged in, an USB cable for establishing a serial connection to the PC and delivering a 5V single power supply. An SDK can be retrieved from the download section of this product website and provides the API in C-code language and a comprehensive and easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) allowing users to immediately start evaluating the sensor for the target application. The documentation includes a getting started guide and an API reference manual (available via help section in the Explorer) for the final system integration.
