"The SC 16x6G product is a high-performance 16-port, 6 Gbps SATA protocol controller intended for the server and data center solutions market. The PM8006 complies with the PCIe 3.0 standard and supports PCIe rates up to 8.0 Gbps per PCIe lane. A rich set of drivers for Linux, Windows, VMWare, and FreeBSD is available for the SC PM8006. All drivers support legacy and UEFI BIOS. SC 16x6G is the industry's highest port-count SATA IOC silicon, which enables a single-chip embedded solution with up to 16 drives without the need for a multiple chip solution while providing full 6 Gbps SATA performance. Microsemi provides a complete suite of design-in collateral to support embedded designs with this product, including reference designs, detailed hardware specifi cations, and design-in guides."
