Our DCM-xx dispersion compensation units utilize the advanced Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) technology, offering comprehensive and channel plan independent compensation. Unlike fiber-based counterparts, FBG-based DCMs only account for a small fraction of the total loss. Furthermore, FBG ensures a latency measured in nanoseconds, a significant improvement over the microseconds latency in fiber-based alternatives.
The design of our FBG-based DCMs is such that they accurately replicate the dispersion and dispersion slope characteristic of the G.652 fiber type. This feature is particularly important when upgrading to higher bit rates, where low residual dispersion is key. The DCM-xx units can handle high optical power without incurring penalties from non-linear effects. Even at the highest power level found in any conventional network, these units do not introduce non-linear effects.
We offer six different versions of the DCM-xx modules, with ranges from 20km to 120km. Additionally, two DCM-xx plug-in modules can be conveniently installed in the 1RU mechanical holder DCM-MB-2-19.
