Product Detail

The Coherent FTLC3352S3PL1 100G ZR QSFP28 C-Temp Digital Coherent Optics (DCO) transceiver is the first of its kind to be available in a standard QSFP28 form factor. It boasts a power dissipation that is less than half of competing solutions, making it suitable for deployment on virtually any switch or router with 100G ports. This innovation allows network operators to deploy 100G DWDM interfaces without the need for costly transport equipment or more expensive switches or routers with QSFP-DD ports.

Powered by the Coherent Steelerton DSP, the 100G ZR QSFP28-DCO transceiver is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3™-2022 100GBASE-ZR standard, ensuring compatibility with other solutions. The Steelerton DSP is the first DSP specifically designed for 100G ZR applications, optimized for minimal power dissipation and compact size. In the QSFP28 module, the DSP is combined with an efficient silicon photonics optical front-end and a power-optimized tunable laser, resulting in a typical power dissipation of less than 5W.

To support deployment in diverse edge network locations, including street cabinets or pole-mounted enclosures, the 100G ZR QSFP28-DCO module is also available in a version that supports industrial temperature ranges. For simplified network installation and operation, the module includes value-added software features such as:

- Flextune™ automatic wavelength configuration, which allows the transceiver to autonomously find the correct wavelength for end-to-end connectivity across the DWDM network, enabling zero-touch provisioning and significant operational expense savings by speeding up installation and reducing the risk of technician error.
- Remote digital diagnostics, which enable a transceiver in a central office to access the digital diagnostics of a transceiver at the remote end of the link and relay that information back to the network management system, eliminating the need for a separate supervisory channel to the remote location.
