The Apposite N61 Network WAN Emulator is a powerful tool for testing and evaluating the performance of networks and applications. It features two Ethernet ports with either SFP+ 1Gbps or RJ45 1Gbps connections, and can handle up to 2 Gbps of aggregate throughput. With its 1 Gbps emulation engine and maximum packet rate of 3 million pps, it can handle packets of up to 9 KB in size. The Apposite N61 allows for packet classification by IP source and destination address range (IPv4 or IPv6), VLAN, TCP or UDP port number, IP ToS, MAC address, MPLS label, or any other packet contents. Bandwidth can be set from 100 bps to 100 Gbps in 1 bps increments, while delay can be set from 0 ms to 10,000 ms or greater in each direction in 0.01 ms increments, with constant, uniform, or normal distributions. Loss and corruption can be set to random, burst, periodic, BER, Gilbert-Elliott, or recorded loss, and data corruption, as well as network outages, can be simulated. The Apposite N61 also allows for background utilization of up to 100% in increments of 0.1%, and PCAP replay. Queuing and prioritization can be set to RED or tail drop queue management, as well as priority or round robin queuing.
