The H-MD-4LAN-EM-SFx filters are a pair of LANWDM-filters designed for single-fiber configurations. These LANWDM channels are situated in the 1300nm region, where the dispersion characteristics are at their most optimal for standard single-mode fiber. This feature, for instance, allows for extended distances for 25G Ethernet services within a 5G network. There are eight defined LANWDM channels, and the H-MD-4LAN-EM-SFx filters utilize one channel for uplink and another for downlink, offering a total of 4 bi-directional channels. As a result, there are two distinct filters, labeled âAâ and âBâ, with the difference being the transmitted and received channels.
The H-MD-4LAN-EM-SFx filters come with an Extension port designed for single-fiber DWDM filters. In 5G networks, there is often a requirement to transport services such as 10G Ethernet along with 25G Ethernet services. This Extension port spans the entire C-band, allowing for a flexible addition of any DWDM channel combination.
The H-MD-4LAN-EM-SFx filters are equipped with a Monitor port that diverts 1% of the transmitted and received line signal. This feature enables the monitoring of the channel power levels via a connected Optical Channel Monitoring (OCM) device or an optical spectrum analyzer.
