The Edgecore EPS203 is a high-performance Multi-Gigabit Ethernet L2/L3 switch that boasts 54 ports. This includes 36 x 100M/1000M/2.5G ports, 12 x 1G/2.5G/5G/10GBASE-T ports, 4 x 25G uplink ports, and 2x100G QSFP28 stacking ports. The stacking capability is subject to NOS implementation. Additionally, all RJ-45 Ethernet ports can support up to 90 W Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).
The EPS203 is an ideal solution for campus networking. It comes with redundant hot-swappable AC PSUs and port-to-power airflow. The EPS203 is capable of providing up to 90 Watts (depending on the PoE power budget) of power per port for all 48 RJ45 ports, including the 10G port. This power can be used to support attached access devices such as VoIP phones, wireless access points, and surveillance cameras. This makes full use of the existing Cat. 6 cable infrastructure.
This open network switch comes pre-loaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE). This supports the installation of compatible Network Operating System software. This includes both open source NOS options and commercial NOS offerings.
