The Pyreos sensor ezPyro SMD is the smallest digital pyroelectric sensor optimized for gas sensing, flame detection, food and oil analysis, motion detection and gesture recognition.

When developing gas sensing application or a flame detection system the Pyreos sensor, ezPyro SMD - the smallest digital gas sensor and digital flame detector – must be one of the first options to be analysed and explored. The ezPyro SMD sensor is the ideal infrared detector for gas sensing applications to detect carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), methane (CH4), nitric oxide (NO), water vapour, anaesthetics, refrigerants, and exhaust gases. It also can be used in flame detection, food analysis (sugars, proteins, fats), oil industry, motion detection, direction detection, proximity and approach, and gesture recognition.

The ezPyro SMD sensor have industry-leading active and passive power consumption. It is a type of fire detection sensor with low power consumption. In the regular power mode 4 active channels has a current of 60μA, in the saving power mode, the 4 active channels consume 7.5μA. The ezPyro flame detection sensor has Integrated an ADCs, filters, buffer, clock and DC/DC converter to enable an easy integration.

The ezPyro sensor has also the wake-up-by-signal feature, which is the mode that turns off the I2C digital output stream, while the sensor itself remains active till a trigger action is made. When a trigger action is made it re-establish the I2C communication. The trigger action might be a hand a motion, a flame or a gas concentration.

The ezPyro API is the Programming Interface of the ezPyro SMD infrared sensor. It allows the customers to develop applications around the sensor providing high configurability and customized features. The ezPyro API provides full control of ezPyro sensor and connects over I2C configuration. It reads digital data-stream with possibility of set gain per channel and a set sampling rate per channel.
