Constructed around Coherent's Steelerton DSP, the 100G ZR QSFP28-DCO transceiver fully adheres to the IEEE 802.3-2022 100GBASE-ZR standard, ensuring compatibility with other systems. The Steelerton DSP is the inaugural purpose-designed DSP for 100G ZR applications, fine-tuned for minimal power dissipation and compact size. Within the QSFP28 module, the DSP is coupled with an ultra-efficient silicon photonics optical front-end and a power-optimized tunable laser, leading to a typical module power dissipation of under 5W. To accommodate deployment in a broad range of edge network locations, such as street cabinets or pole mount enclosures, a version of the 100G ZR QSFP28-DCO module that supports industrial temperature ranges will also be available.
