The shortage of IPv4 addresses is becoming a big issue, there isn't enough IPv4 addresses for the current number of internet users, let alone the increasing number of users being added every day. To meet this demand, providers are increasingly adopting Carrier-Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT).
CGNAT enables a single router to act as an agent between the Internet and a local private network, so that one public IPv4 address can represent 100s, or even 1,000s of devices within the private network.
The EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards was held in-person and virtually on November 25th. The 24 finalists for this year’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards included EPS Global's CEO, and collectively employ more than 3,900 people and generate revenue in excess of €1 billion. Fresh off the back of COP26, energy consumption and carbon emissions are of great concern in the data center industry. Our Senior Systems Engineer sat on a panel along with the Open Compute Project & The Cube National Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon at Data Centres Ireland to discuss real life examples of how and where open source hardware is being used to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions in data centres worldwide.
This month we hosted a webinar with IP Infusion and the OCP where we discussed the latest insights on this critical topic, delving into how disaggregation ecosystems simplifies the operational complexity to accelerate new services, while looking at the role of hardware and software ecosystem partnerships which accelerate open networking in different market segments.
